On February 8th, I had the great honor of being invited by ME-Events to a really special event: Sefa’s “Het Ergste Moet Nog Komen” album show at the well-known Docks club in Hamburg. And it was an absolutely unique experience, a concert I will never forget!

Sefa Vlaarkamp, one of the most iconic DJs and producers in the hard dance scene, came up with an exclusive tour for his highly anticipated album “Heg Ergste Moet Nog Komen”. If you know a bit about Sefa, it should have dawned on you by now that this tour was far from ordinary: With every show, he infiltrated the hallowed walls of the venue to take the audience on an extraordinary journey of sound.

This was my first opportunity to attend this special kind of event, and everything people told me about it beforehand was absolutely accurate – there’s absolutely nothing else out there in this outstanding combination. A remarkable fusion of styles, paired with an unparalleled performance.

Classical music meets frenchcore – that wasn’t new; we’ve definitely seen that before. But in combination with live instrumentalists and a breathtaking stage design, Sefa took the visitors on a musical journey that elevated this kind of music to another dimension.

It was only a matter of time until we finally had the chance to experience this show in Northern Germany after following its phenomenal premiere at Oberhausen last year.

When I arrived at Docks, lots of eager visitors couldn’t wait at the door to get inside. And even though there wasn’t much time between opening the doors and the beginning of the show, the security personnel handled the situation well, ensuring everyone made it to the show in time.

For all merchandise enthusiasts, the Sefa team had organized some brand-new merchandise items for the concert tour. And the people couldn’t wait to get their hands on the exclusive shirts, caps, and more!

The show kicked off perfectly on time, and the first thing that caught my eye was the impressive stage design, featuring background visuals of a church along with Sefa’s logo in large.

The event also featured video walls on both the left and right-hand sides of the stage. So, even if you didn’t secure yourself a spot in the first rows, you could still have a perfect view of the performance.

The stage was clearly structured and well-organized, which was crucial given the several instrumentalists, all of them perfectly arranged and thus, visually absolutely stunning.

Immediately after the intro, Sefa took us on a mesmerizing journey through time with “Turn Back Time”. It felt as if we were immersed in another world with closed eyes.

The audience was literally captivated by a compelling mix of timeless classics and recent hits such as “Justify” and “Crawling”, even along with a few new productions that made the crowd go wild.

The entire show was led by Sefa on the piano in the middle, complemented by Nina Zuure on the violin, and Laurens Huttinga on the guitar. And this young artist even brought someone on the accordion and on string instruments. What a masterful collaboration!

Dazzling with stunning lighting effects, sensational smoke cannons, and a powerful sound system, the show was convincing during both quiet and high-energy moments. For those who needed a refresher on the lyrics, they were cleverly displayed as stage visuals. Very smart!

At the end of the concert, Sefa graciously thanked the audience and handed over the spotlight to Spitnoise, who instantly ignited the crowd with a high-octane uptempo set. Mirco B took over afterward, unleashing an explosive performance with Deutscher Krach and Zaagkicks, leaving everyone in stunned amazement.

Witnessing this live show was an exceptional experience, and it certainly will not have been the last time for me! This concert was a masterclass in artistry and passion and will remain in my memory for a long time to come.
