ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a disorder causing muscle weakness and atrophy (wasting away). 1 of 100.000 has ALS and the life expectancy of an ALS patient averages about two to five years after the diagnosis. Since everybody can get stroked by ALS, it’s even more impotent to help people, who are suffering from this terrible disorder!
Hard ALS Style raises money with hardstyle and hardcore events and needs your full attention. But what’s Hard ALS Style exactly and how can YOU support them for a good cause? We asked them a few questions to make it simple and understandable.
Q1: Short and sweet – What is Hard ALS Style?
A1: It’s a fund raising hardstyle and hardcore event for the deadly muscle disease ALS. In Dutch ALS means “as”, so that’s how we came up with the name.
Q2: What motivates you to organize this event?
A2: The father of one of my best friends Marcel was diagnosed with ALS. Until then we didn’t realize how significant the impact of such a diagnoses can be for the whole family. Their world literally fell apart.
At the same time the DJ duo AVIO have offered themselves on a bidding site. The highest bidder would get AVIO for a 3 hour gig and the paid money would go to a charity.
So the target was set! We called our friends and within two days we collected 1577 Euro, enough to win the bidding and AVIO. The night was amazing and the whole family and even Marcel’s father came to watch.
Q3: What happens with the raised money?
A3: The money that we collect on the 13th of December will be donated to the ALS foundation, supporting the research to find a cure for ALS. Don’t worry: the costs for the organization of the party will be paid by us, so 100% of your money goes to the charity.
