30 years. What a number. Let that sink in. I’m not even that old, but NATURE ONE has owned my heart ever since I started partying years ago. And for the anniversary edition, the NATURE ONE crew turned it up louder than ever – pushing beyond musical boundaries, beyond the festival grounds, and straight into history.

What looked like another 2024-style mud disaster at first actually turned out to be one of the best camping years ever. I-Motion had prepared for the worst, leasing 30% extra space in case of heavy rain and bad ground conditions. But the weather? Way better than expected! Sure, there was some rain – but also plenty of sunny moments. As a result, everyone had more than enough room to set up camp. Pretty safe to say they’ll prepare for even more visitors next year.

On top of that, the camping area was packed with funny side activities like a “Bundeswehr” morning boot camp or the “CherrYO!kie” party.

The camping stages are what makes NATURE ONE unique. Everyone knows they’ll be there – but this year, something finally happened that people had been begging for: most of them became official. Uniform signs, a stage map, and huge, long-overdue recognition at last for all the hardworking crews hauling tons of material and investing weeks of sweat to deliver a one-of-a-kind camping rave experience for just a few days each year.

Apart from a single short break on Wednesday night, many stages ran almost 24/7, blasting the hardest electronic music out there. My personal highlights? The Hard Monkeys and the 30hz stages! But I also loved partying at smaller stages dropping dark, pounding hard techno deep into the night.

Yes, the walk from camping to the festival grounds is long. But most people turned it into a ritual: military marches, mobile party setups, or simply making it fun along the path. Halfway, I-Motion even set up vending machines so you could refuel with beer or soft drinks. And lining the way were all the old NATURE ONE posters from past editions – a timeline of rave history guiding us towards the base.

And then, the moment of magic: spotting the impressive military jet and knowing I had arrived, at the entrance gates of NATURE ONE.

Once again, the NATURE ONE team transformed the former military missile base Pydna, built for war back then, into a temple of freedom and unity. People came from all over the world, some even flying in just for this festival as they told me.

NATURE ONE showed its full potential again in 2025 – with stunning redesigned main stages but also lovely, ear-shattering club stages. The sound systems hit harder than anything I’ve experienced before. At the Hardcore Gladiators stage, the bass was so brutal I had to step outside the bunker after just 30 minutes to catch a break. Both the Syndicate Zone and the Century Circus featured epic outdoor light installations that lit up the tents from the outside – pure Q-Base flashbacks right there! And of course, the iconic NATURE ONE tower stood tall in the middle of it all, firing green lasers across the entire area.

On Friday, NATURE ONE opened its gates from 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM – and the night was packed with highlights. Die Gebrüder Brett unleashed a relentless 90-minute hardtekk set. Dr. Peacock once again created pure magic with his signature heart-warming but heavy frenchcore kicks. Then there was Lil Texas – no explanation needed, that crazy American knows exactly how to squeeze every last drop of energy out of a crowd. And finally, Schlot and Vane, served up nothing but pure noise – in that enjoyable krach way, I mean.

Saturday went even longer, running until 8:00 in the morning. After hopping from stage to stage and catching the breathtaking fireworks show, the night turned into a full-on krach-day for me. I witnessed Cyber Gunz, Neue Deutsche Säge, and Noiseflow – all in one row – and the energy was simply amazing!

As much as I love NATURE ONE, there are a few things that need fixing.

The toilet situation was bad – way too few urinals, already overflowing on Friday. And the lack of tap water was tough in the heat.

Also, the I-Motion app community channels desperately need better moderation. Too many fakes and way too many inappropriate messages.

Fingers crossed for some improvement on these issues next year!

Before diving into the first set of the weekend, I visited the digital art installation at the headquarters on the festival grounds. Pictures and videos from all 29 previous years of NATURE ONE made it feel like stepping into rave history. And that’s the beauty of it: no matter if it was your first NATURE ONE or your twentieth – we’re all part of the same story. And most important: we’re one family!

Seeing the flyer of the very first edition literally blew me away. I noticed names like Charly Lownoise and Paul van Dyk – the fact that they’re still around and playing at the 2025 edition is just insane. Fun fact: back in 1995, you could buy a combi-ticket that included a flight straight onto the NATURE ONE airfield from Berlin, Munich, or Hamburg. Imagine landing directly in your rave weekend like that (or remember it if you’ve done it back then)!

As a perfect finale to the festival weekend, I stopped by the NATURE ONE exhibition in Kastellaun’s castle museum. Free entry for all festival guests, showing old flyers, merchandise, and a documentary. My highlight? A 1:100 LEGO model of the NATURE ONE Classic Terminal. The museum staff was so happy about my visit that they even asked me to write in the guestbook. Leafing through, I saw page after page of heartfelt words from fellow ravers – and once again, I felt the love of this community in every line.
