OUT NOW! A hardstyle DJ duo from Scotland aka. Shellshock? If you don’t know them you must check out their new EP!
The futuristic sound of this EP, combined with well made sound pattern, is just outstanding. Raw, but not too rough. Shellshock finds the sweet spot and surprises you with compulsive and catchy tracks.
I really hope to hear some of the tracks at upcoming events, since they are very danceable. Especially The Cycle, my favorite track of the EP.
Shellshock - Wormhole
Starting with the name giving track Wormhole! A huge intro kick supported by wobble basses, deep screeches and the futuristic vocals – very refreshing, since it’s not the classic rawstyle track pattern with high pitched screeches. The wobble basses remind me of the Qlimax anthem by Noisectonrollers and create a cinematic atmosphere.
Shellshock - Replicant
Replicant stays within the same style. The kick is slightly harder with a louder punch and the rhythmic screeches are just killing it. Again, some wobble basses in the build up. I like how they are playing with stereo sounds in the main part, which makes the track overwhelming and engaging. Replicant is full of details and representative for a top notch production!
Shellshock - The Cycle
With The Cycle the EP get’s even rougher and I bet this will be the next dance floor banger! The main part, with the kick and distortions, is extremely compulsive, just forcing me to dance. Futuristic sounds underline the overall setting of the EP and the build ups are just perfectly made. Best track of the EP!
Shellshock - Fornax
Last but not least, Fornax! Slower, more steady but unfortunately not the best track of the EP. Some great pitch shifts emphasize the quality of the production at least. I want more of this, for sure!
