Kyara – Go!

A new young talent signed at fusion and with her first release ‘Go’ Kyara got my full attention. ‘Go’ is a classic rawstyle track. Rough screeches and a wide set of sound effects. Kyara proves that she can compete in the scene and made me curious for more. But who is that ‘tough girl’ and what can we expect in the future?

Interview with Kyara

You have just started fresh with signing at Fusion. Would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi everyone! I am Anna and my artist name is Kyara. I am 23 years old and started my hobby when I was 16 years old.

Kyara is a quite unique name – what is the story/meaning of it?
I searched for a tough and strong name. After a brainstorm I came up with the name Kyara, which means clear, brilliant and shiny. It defines what I want to represent in the scene. Hardstyle is a male orientated scene, so I want to shine as a tough girl.

You’ve been around under a different alias for quite some time. What made you change your alias and start all over?
Yes, I started my career as Anagenetic and I signed at another agency. Nevertheless I always dreamed of joining Fusion someday. I love their style and the atmosphere in their music. After 5 years I decided it was time to approach Fusion. I emailed them about my future plans and they were excited. They invited me and after a couple of conversations they offered me a contract. Together we decided to start from scratch again with a brand new name and image. It’s the beginning of a new journey!

Kyara in action

Since you are one of the few female DJs. Why do you think are there so few female DJ`s in the scene?
Well, I think they underrate how many female DJs are climbing to the top already. The reason why it’s hard to stay there is maybe because of the guys, who get scared of how good we are haha 😉 The whole DJ scene started with almost only male DJs, so it’s hard to change this condition. Nowadays people start to accept a bit more that also girls are able to DJ and produce, like myself. I just try to do it my own way. My style is a bit raw and I am a tough girl, I think people like that about Kyara. But yes, there are still too little females in the scene so come on girls! Show us what you can!

You said there are quite many female DJs getting bigger in the scene already, which are your favorites?
My favorites female DJs are Korsakoff and Lady Dana.

Any tips for newcomer DJs? Especially female DJs?
Ok this might sound a bit like a cliché but believe in yourself and keep on practicing. Look what other DJs do, how they perform and get the crowd crazy. But at the same time create your own style. Don’t be afraid to ask other DJs and producers. It is not a shame to ask for any help to improve your production skills, DJ skills etc. And when the moment is there, take your chance, because you are the only one who can make it or break it.

How would you describe your own style?
My still will be a bit raw, but not too much. I want it to be tough and a bit dark. I love the atmosphere in music so I think some tracks will be a little bit more mainstream. We’ll see. But it will definitely stay raw and heavy!

What do you like about rawstyle in particular?
It is not that I like rawstyle in particular. I just want hardstyle to be solid and hard. The raw side of hardstyle fits better to me. Powerful and energetic!

Last but not least: do you have any exciting news or plans you want to share with your fans?
I got some projects I am working on, but currently it is all about developing myself and creating some awareness for my brand Kyara. Joining Fusion was a big step for me and it’s the beginning of a new adventure. Recently I had my first big gig at XXlerator RAW and it gave me a lot of inspiration for the upcoming future.
