Although the first COVID relaxations take effect, for the Airbeat One festival the original plan came too early. But instead of canceling the 2021 edition, the organization just moved the event to September.
The good news in short: Two months later, but the full Airbeat One. This is how it shall take place. The organization quotes on their homepage, that thee access to the Airbeat One premises, should be available only with Corona tests.
But for large-scale events, July is coming too early. Therefore the festival “Airbeat One” at the airport of Neustadt-Glewe will be postponed to the beginning of September. The organizer and the district of Ludwigslust Parchim and the city of Neustadt-Glewe agreed on this. Originally, northern Germany’s largest festival for electronic music was to take place in July.
Sophisticated hygiene concept
The hygiene measures now presented should provide safe protection despite full guest numbers, said the organizer in an interview with NDR 1 Radio. Most of the committed artists are still available. The organizer expects a large crowd: “Airbeat One” has been attended by around 180,000 people in each of the past years. This shall be the same this year – therefore no small edition.
The festival is now scheduled for the weekend of September 8-12. This time there will be a detailed hygiene strategy due to Corona. Already last week, a catalog has been submitted to the health and regulatory authorities. The exact measures are to be presented shortly. But it is already clear that everyone who enters the festival area must take a test. Exceptions apply to vaccinated or recovered persons.
