Hanover screamed for chaos – and Dr. Donk delivered a full-on sonic examination that left no ear untouched. On April 11th, Kulturzentrum Faust turned into a no-holds-barred uptempo war zone as PLNK Events brought in the big act from Cologne for a night of “Uptempo Poison”.

Here are the six reasons why my appointment with Dr. Donk was a much more enjoyable experience than my usual visit to the doctor’s office!
1. No overcrowded waiting room!
Unfortunately, there was no advantage for VIP ticket holders at the entrance, as there was only one queue and a single entrance for all visitors. But although everyone was eager to get inside and join the party, things went forward smoothly and quickly.
2. Much nicer staff than stressed-out medical assistants!
The friendly staff at the entrance, cloakroom, and bar always served me quickly and competently, including a smile. I really enjoy giving a tip in this case – also with a smile.
3. Better catering!
The drink prices were absolutely reasonable – 3.50 € for a soft drink and 3.80 € for a beer. Are there any other events offering drinks that affordable?
The only downside to the venue: There was no toilet paper in the restrooms for the entire night. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a difference to the well-being of guests.
4. Intensive preliminary investigation!
Before the doctor began his treatment, Blarc, Kickartz, and Justin Pollnik thoroughly tested the audience for danceability. With success! Although the evening’s theme, “Uptempo Poison,” was frequently overshadowed by other electronic genres, the majority of the crowd totally enjoyed it and got pumped up by the beats!
5. The most extensive treatment my ears will ever get!
As usual and expected, headliner Dr. Donk got the entire crowd going! Using his devices “Zaagkicks” and “Deutscher Krach” (German Noise), he definitely reset every ear canal in the room to its factory settings. What a mind-blowing set – truly the highlight of the night!
6. Aftercare, the uptempo way!
The closing act for the event was none other than RoKun! Those who left after Dr. Donk undoubtedly missed out on an incredible performance!
Already at the last WANTED event in Berlin, this talented young guy impressed me with his ability to entirely captivate the crowd with contemporary as well as all-time favorite uptempo tracks. An outstanding conclusion to this night!
