MC Da Syndrome at Ground Zero
We already asked a few other artists about Ground Zero, but what do you think of it?
Well, Ground Zero is awesome because it’s a night festival, which has a special flair. It’s something special and unique!
You’re the only MC, who don’t get featured with other artists – why?
I don’t know exactly, but my place is the stage. I’m trying to focus on my performances on stage, I’m a stage animal! But maybe there is something coming up in the future, you never know!
How long do you listen to hardstyle now?
I started listen to hardstyle/hardcore way back in 1996. In 2006 I started performing on stage, together with the Scantraxx crew, together with The Prophet. And the people saw me on stage and went crazy, they said I have so much energy on stage, so I kept going on.
How do you decided to become an MC?
Way back in the 90s I thought why don’t be a DJ. So I started playing at weddings and birthdays. One day I met Don Diablo, he’s a great artist and he asked me, if I could perform on stage with a mic. I thought well that’s quite nice why not.
What do you think about the style changes in the scene? Do you prefer Raw or euphoric?
I heard all about the classic hardstyle , I heard all about the euphoric hardstyle, I mean I started back in 1996, so I noticed all the changes back in the history of hardstyle. But I prefer the rougher sounds, because they give me more energy, more power on stage – I feel it!
What do you think about the fact, that Defqon.1 is expanding to America?
Well I think it’s great, world domination for the hardstyle scene! I think everybody should get a chance to listen to hardstyle and to party with thousands of other people. It’s all about the feeling you have while listening and dancing to it. Hardstyle is more than just music!
What do you think about the german crowd or the german hardstyle scene?
They are just crazy! I had a few performances in Germany and I enjoyed every of them! I’ve been to Airbeat One once it was awesome! What a great vibe – got me goosebumbs everywhere! I also went a few times to the Tunnel Club in Hamburg!
Last question, can you speak german? Tell us something!
Meine Name ist Wouter Koops , komme aus den Niederlanden und wenn ich halt Party machen, dann mache ich halt Party. Bratwurst and Bier!
