On Sunday, the 2nd of October the 9th edition of North Germanys leading indoor event for harder styles took place at atrium Kiel. The Insane takes place for more than three years now, evolving from an underground party into a massive event in one of Germanys biggest clubs!
Like every other edition of Insane the line-up was great, D-Block& S-Te-Fan, Noiseconterollers, Psyko Punkz, Zatox, Sub Sonik and Chain Reaction were the acts for the Hardstyle area which was hosted by no one other than MC Villain. For the second time BKJN hosted a stage at Insane. The line-up was huge with acts like Partyraiser, Dr. Peacock or Repix, Neophyte, Furian, F.Noize and also the godfather of Hardcore, Paul Elstak, gave their honour at this party.
Jan van Bass 10 and Phil DK started the party at 8pm. These two guys are the resident Djs from this club. The last 30 minutes were great and the Anthem called “Realm of Superior” is a great Track! At midnight D-Block& S-Te-Fan were the first international act at the main area. We heard some older tracks like Sound of the Thunder or Loop Machine and newer tracks like World’s Collide and Into the Light. This set was great way to start the party.
After this set it was time to check out the full packed BKJN Area. Partyraiser, the king of uptempo was at the decks. Starting with the very first kick, everybody was going crazy to his set! After 45 minutes it was time to take a break at the outdoor area. With some food and drinks it was a good place to rest.
Some minutes we went back to the main, Noisecontrollers closed the set with last year’s track of the year Solar, which brought back many memories to all the summer festivals…
Next up on stage were Psyko Punkz. Tracks like Spaceship or Psyko Foundation were blasting through the speakers. The next artists I really wanted to see was the godfather of Hardcore. Paul Elstak played at a maximum filled area, it was hard to get in and find a good place to party. He played many Oldschool Hardcore tracks like Love you More and in the end newer tracks like Mad Dog’s Dogfight.
The atmosphere was so great during his set and all people were happy. After one hour of pure madness, Oldschool hardcore and time traveling it was time to go back to the main area. Zatox was spinning the records. Dave Raven was also with the Italian master in Kiel. FTFMF, New World Order and some Wild Motherfuckers tracks were played during his set, Dave Raven motivated the people to go crazy and nearly everyone followed him!
The next Dj on stage gave his debut at Insane and it was no one other than Sub Sonik! It was 4 o’clock in the morning, the beats get rougher and the Atrium was still packed! The crowd heard one of his latest tracks “King Kong” with Crypsis. When a wild sandstorm appeared in the mail hall everybody was losing their minds! (I love this track and I’m still waiting for the release…) after an hour of rough beats Sub Sonik closed his set with Wazz Up, the hardcore collab with D-Fence.
The last international artist was Chain Reaction. He played lots of Minus Militia tracks like Cracking your Rips and also the new track Overdose! His latest EP was also part of the set. He closed his set with the hardcore edit of Break Fown Low.
It was now 6 o’clock in the morning and many party people were still in the club.
All in all it was a really good party, in my opinion the best Insane! The Djs played great sets, the sound system was good and so was the light show. The 18+ introduction for this event was also positively remarkable. I can’t wait for the next event in 2017 to celebrate the 4th birthday of northern Germanys leading indoor event for the harder styles!
