Tucked far away deep in Northern Germany, the crew behind Energize Festival proved that heart and hardstyle go hand in hand. Organized by friends and family, fueled by passion, and packed with stunning sets from names like Frequencerz and Primeshock, this small event with just around 2,000 visitors delivered raw vibes and unforgettable energy. It felt like one big family reunion on a bass-fueled mission – a true hidden gem!

Reporting on Energize Festival is a matter very close to my heart, as I had been thinking about attending for a long time. Therefore, lean back and let me take you on the journey of the “Rise of Redemption”!
In today’s world, you really have to use a magnifying glass to find those unique events hidden in between the big mainstream festivals. And that’s exactly the category in which Energize Festival stands out as a great example!
It embodies the energy we all feel when we come together to listen to the music we all love, dancing our feet off, and remembering those moments later again and again with tears of joy in our eyes.
What makes this event particularly special is that it’s organized by more than 60 friends, acquaintances, and family members, entirely on a voluntary basis. All proceeds from the festival are directly reinvested into planning and financing future editions.

For an even more special experience, the Energize team broadcasted a warm-up stream on Twitch, live from the stage. Beatfighterz and Reini got all the listeners into party mode and pumped up while the attendees were still on their way to the festival grounds.
This year, the festival’s motto was “Rise of Redemption” – reminding us to gather our strengths in difficult times, celebrate life’s highs, spread our wings, and ride the waves of euphoria and happiness.
The event took place in Dissau (aka the middle of nowhere), a town in Schleswig-Holstein not far from a wind farm. The huge, spinning rotor blades perfectly illustrated the energy.
As soon as I arrived at the venue, I immediately felt the warm and welcoming nature of the Energize team. But that wasn’t the only thing I noticed – no, the whole area, the whole event had been given so much love!
Even though there was only one large main stage, so much effort was put into creating a distinct atmosphere that made you feel like you were at a major festival in the Netherlands or Belgium. The signage was lovingly handcrafted by the crew, shining in yellow to match the sunshine.

I don’t think I need to mention that the usual festival token system was utilized for payments there, do I? It’s simply the most convenient and straightforward way to pay, just like at the big events.
One more unique aspect of the event was that, although there was some kind of a timetable, you indeed had to guess who would get on stage next. That timetable just gave us hints and not the artist names after all. But it kept the excitement alive throughout the afternoon and evening – and coming up with such an idea is no small feat!
The attendees’ physical well-being was taken care of, too, with a selection of culinary delights such as burgers, burritos, and crepes. Some refreshing ice cream afterward? Yeah! You rather wanted to stick to cold beers? There was enough of that!
Everything was conveniently reachable not far from the main stage. And no matter where you stood, you could literally feel the energy and joy in the air, driven by pulsating bass lines and the best of the harder styles sounds that we all love.
Speaking of harder styles, nothing was left out. But before the performances began, the visitors could experience a spectacular opening ceremony by the hunting horn players from Dissau – a ritual celebrated every year since 2021 and a perfect lead-up to the event. I have never seen anything like that before what made me all more surprised.

After a short warm-up with a mix of techno and goa by Leanart to get the crowd going, things quickly shifted into high gear. A short breather in the bright sunshine with a cool refreshment later, I returned to Ruffian already firing on all cylinders. Anyone who only knows him as an MC has yet to experience his skills behind the decks, from where he pumped out an amazing mix of hardstyle classics and current bangers.
This set was the perfect prelude to passing the baton to Primeshock, taking over the sacred Energize DJ booth, perfectly capturing the mood with their wild mix of euphoric hardstyle. With their hits such as “Lose Control” and “Speedrun”, they really got the crowd going and, to everyone’s surprise, they had even brought some new music, titled “Unforgettable” – and the crowd loved it!

After snacking a delicious burger (damn, it was that tasty!), I was taken straight into The Yellow Insanity – a spectacular 30-minute showcase across all genres, featuring fireworks and lots of confetti. It was truly wild!
While dancing the day away, I even bumped into the Primeshock guys in the audience. They’re really cool!
Time flew by. I hadn’t had that much fun at a festival in a long time. And after an energetic set by Pan & Tilt, it was time for a very special act. None other than Frequencerz made an appearance for one of their final shows before the end of their career. With hits like “The Unknown”, “Renegades”, and “Wolfpack”, they delivered a true spectacle of rawstyle energy. What an incredibly emotional set – we were thoroughly impressed. Safe to say, we will definitely miss you guys!
But if you thought you could take a break now, you were wrong! To everyone’s surprise, Amentis brought Baxxus on stage as a special guest. Together, these two artists pulled off a crazy raw set. Absolutely mind-blowing!
Just as I found the time to catch my breath with a drink, the next bass thunderstorm was already looming – triggered by none other than The Purge, who stood in for DJ Zatox. With a wild mix of hard techno and raw beats, including his bangers “Forever Trippin”, and “Summer Secrets”, he had the crowd going wild.

As the evening wore on and things got harder and harder, I could feel the toll of the day on my body. I don’t think I’ve ever moved as much in my life as I did that day. Believe me, my feet haven’t been this sore in a long time!
Next up was the anthem maker, Beatfighterz, who brought a rough mix ending up in the hardcore genre to the stage, demanding the last bits of energy from the crowd and setting the tone for the end show.
And what the Energize team put together as the grand finale was absolutely next level. They had worked for weeks to create an exceptional show, ensuring all elements worked together in perfect harmony. A symphony of lasers, fireworks, accompanied by the ideal music backdrop created a breathtaking sea of light and sound around Dissau.

This event had everything I could have wished for. It was full of energy. It was familiar (I met that many people I hadn’t seen in ages). It was Energize – and it will be back!
