That first edition, with the theme “The Underground Night Gathering”, marked the start of something truly unique: the only outdoor nighttime hardcore festival in the Netherlands. It began as an experiment, but quickly became a ritual.
From the very first edition, Ground Zero was never just a festival – it was our place to meet up and lose ourselves in the music for one night. Every summer, the Recreatieplas Bussloo lakeside transformed into a world of fire, lasers, and pounding basslines, where thousands of ravers came together to dance through the night to the rawest, darkest kicks. Every theme, every stage, every lineup wrote its own chapter. Legends of the early rave days stood shoulder to shoulder with the new generation of hardcore warriors, making Ground Zero the bridge between history and the future.
From the monumental stages that rose from the night, to unforgettable sets that shook the ground beneath our feet, Ground Zero became history. Every scream, every bassline, every firework in the night sky built the legacy we share today.
Now, in 2025, the story reaches its end. This year, Ground Zero returns one last time for The Final Night – one last gathering of warriors, legends, and believers in the hardest sound.
This edition will feature a special closing ceremony, with the absolute legends of the hardcore scene writing history one last time. Expect groundbreaking live sets, emotional tributes, and the hardest soundtracks that shaped two decades of our lives.
