“DÖÖT DÖÖT, all passengers make yourself comfortable on deck, we will leave the harbour soon with destination Tallinn. Enjoy yourself, get a drink and shake your body to some electronic dance music!”
That’s how I imagine the start and very first minutes on deck at Summer Cruise, organized by Monday Bar. Isn’t it cool, you’re on a big ship, cruising from Stockholm to Tallinn and back to Stockholm, over a whole weekend? We are already more than excited!
So, what is Monday Bar and the Cruise about?
Well, it’s exactly what I mentioned before and what you might think it is. Take a few of your friends and have the weekend of your life. I think it’s something completely different compared to a normal weekend festival. Since the beginning back 1992, Monday Bar always tried to offer different music styles for their events. During the cruises you can enjoy different music styles, which depends on the event.
Starting with psy, trance, house, progressive, techno and finally hardstyle or hardcore you can expect a huge variety of different and international DJs, heating up the crowd. They already covered huge names like Headhunterz, Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Ingrosso, nearly all big hardstyle DJs and many many more. The trips are 23 hours or 40 hours long, with different floors and a sundeck during the Summer Cruise.
Let’s take a look into the history of Monday Bar
In 2007 Monday Bar launched a cruise with Q-Dance, introducing hardstyle and hardcore to the Scandinavian scene. The line-up has been just a small one, but with Dana, Luna, The Prophet, Tommy Pulse and MC Villain, definitely worth to look at.
Over the years, the Monday Bar Cruise evolved into one of the most different and unique parties out there. Between 2007 – 2009 Q-Dance was the host of the hardstyle floor at a few events, supported by names like D-Block & S-Te-Fan, Frontliner, B-Front, Evil Activities, Max Enforcer, Headhunterz and more.
In 2010 Scantraxx took over the hardstyle floor ones and offered DJs like Zatox, David Sonar, Alpha2, Tatanka, Wildstylez, Scope DJ and MC DA Syndrome. Through the years and different labels have hosted the hardstyle floor like Dirty Workz and Fusion.
Monday Bar Summer Cruise 2015
This year’s Summer Cruise will provide a 40 hour trip from Stockholm to Tallinn and back to Stockholm. You can board the ship at 3:30 p.m. , the opening party at the sundeck starts at 4 p.m, the ship leaves the harbour at 5:30 p.m. and the party continues at 9:30 p.m. at the different floors inside the ship – Monday Bar White, Black. Technostae will only host a floor on Saturday. The hardstyle line up looks awesome! Isaac, Warface, Requiem, Riiho, Digital Mindz, The Pitcher, Jason Payne, Ophidian & MC DV8 bringing you the best of hardstyle.
The ship offers 727 cabins and accommodations for up to 2500 passengers. It has 4 restaurants, a Cafe, 3 duty free shops and even a small spa ares with sauna. I guess nobody will feel uncomfortable on deck, except if he/she is seasick!
